Guest Post from Gifted & Advanced Academic Services

Many of you are familiar with TED Talks.  Here is an upcoming opportunity featuring some amazing speakers, but two speakers of particular interest - Sir Ken Robinson (who speaks on the need for creativity in the classroom and leadership) and Angela Duckworth (who speaks on grit and determination as essential skills in the 21st century).  Both will be concepts featured in our summer RRISD PreAP/AP Conference scheduled August 6 & 7 at SPHS.  I highly recommend you set your DVR...and register for the Conference...

TED Talks Education, hosted by John Legend, premieres May 7, 2013 at 10/9 c on PBS. Public television and TED, the non-profit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, share a deep commitment to addressing the high school dropout crisis. The TED Talks Education one-hour program brings together a diverse group of teachers and education advocates delivering short, high-impact talks on the theme of teaching and learning.
Speakers include John Legend, Sir Ken Robinson, Dr. Angela Duckworth, Bill Gates, and more.

Please consider tuning in.
