They participate in professional development as well, but how does it look for a large-scale health care company? How does REI or Starbucks handle the training and development of their employees? How are companies like State Farm Insurance addressing the desire of its employees to utilize online learning solutions and the ability for its employees to personalize their learning? What systems have these companies integrated into their business model that we in education could replicate?
Luckily I will be able to spend the next two days learning with professional development supervisors from these industries and hopefully find ways that Round Rock ISD can learn from the private and non-profit sectors in the areas of training and development and specifically online learning.
