Heading Into Day 3 of the 2014 Round Rock ISD Summer PD Conference

The first two days of the Round Rock ISD Summer PD Conference has already seen over 500 teachers come through the doors of Stony Point High School. Classes have ranged from Writing in Science in Action with +Betsy Fulwiler to The Effort Effect looking at student and teacher mindset and grit. Check out this video to learn more about the ideas covered in The Effort Effect class.

These first two days have been incredible and there is so much more to come. Check your room numbers online before arriving or check one of the 10 postings in the mall area of Stony Point before heading to your class. Only one or two changes for tomorrow. There will be plenty of coffee for sale in the cafeteria.

We can't wait for everyone to join us the next two weeks for the Round Rock ISD Summer Professional Development Conference. All room numbers are always up to date in the catalog: http://rrisdpd2014.sched.org/

Also, be sure you signed up in eCampus for your classes. Simply signing up in SCHED will not register you for the class.

Check out this Twitter Story and Photos from the 2014 Round Rock ISD World Class Summit

Inaugural World Class Summit unites, prepares campus leaders for 2014-15
Approximately 250 Round Rock ISD principals, directors and other district and campus leaders learned valuable leadership skills and shared best practices at the inaugural World Class Summit July 22 through 24 at Stony Point High School. The summit featured Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Flores providing opening and closing remarks and Peter Noonan from Solution Tree and Fairfax City Schools in Virginia giving the keynote address. Participants then attended the World Class Showcase, with a set up similar to that of a vendor fair, in which they met with RRISD’s various departments, learning about the services provided at the district level in supporting schools. The World Class Summit ended with multiple training sessions focused on the needs of campus leaders on topics including technology, leadership, data analysis and policy updates. The weeklong event also included sessions for the newly formed Professional Learning Communities to meet, collaborate and organize in order to better serve students as they develop through Round Rock ISD elementary, middle and high schools.
