Jumping Into the Twitter Chat Game with #rrisdpdchat. Third Thursday, 7-8 PM.

Let's take your Twitter experience to the next level.

Most of you probably have a Twitter account and know how to follow interesting people. You may even re-tweet (RT) from time to time. Perhaps you use a Twitter account to make announcements. That is all great, but it's time to take advantage of the learning opportunities your Twitter account provides.

Round Rock ISD has always been on the forefront of technology application. We were one of the first to incorporate Google+ into staff Google accounts. We host an annual district-led Google Summit and employ more Google-certified teachers than any other district in Texas.

Now, we are heading down the Twitter Chat path. And we are making it official. Round Rock ISD folks who participate, contribute or even just lurk will get one-hour of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit.

If you have never participated in a Twitter Chat, you will need to use the right tools. It takes a bit more than your basic Twitter account. I prefer Tweetchat.com. It will allow you to simply follow #rrisdpdchat and not get lost in anything else happening on Twitter. Just log into Tweetchat with your regular Twitter account and follow #rrisdpdchat.

At 7:00 p.m. I will tweet out a sign-in sheet from the #rrisdpd account. In order to get your one-hour of CPE credit, sign in by 7:05 pm and sign out no earlier than 8:00 pm. Stay tuned to the RRISD PD Google+ Community for other tutorials on how to use Twitter and Twitter Chats in particular. Please direct any questions to the community.
