Complete this MOOC from Harvardx and earn 24 hrs of CPE credit. Starts July 8th.

Why not try your first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) this summer? Leaders of Learning is being taught by Dr. Richard Elmore from Harvard University and promises to bring together thoughts on how learning will look in the next 10 years. Here is the description from EdX:

Explore and understand your own theories of learning and leadership. Gain the tools to imagine and build the future of learning.

About this Course

All of us carry explicit or implicit theories of learning. They manifest themselves in the ways we learn, the ways we teach, and the ways we think about leadership and learning.
In Leaders of Learning, you will identify and develop your personal theory of learning, and explore how it fits into the shifting landscape of learning. This isn’t just about schools, it’s about the broader and bigger world of learning.
The education sector is undergoing great transformation, and in the coming decades will continue to change. How we learn, what we learn, where we learn, and why we learn — all these questions will be reexamined. In Leaders of Learning we will explore learning, leadership, organizational structure, and physical design.
The only requirements for Leaders of Learning are:
  • an interest in the evolving world of learning;
  • a curiosity about leadership in this new world;
  • a willingness to examine your own beliefs about learning; and
  • an openness to sharing your thoughts with and responding to others
Ready to sign-up? Earn a certificate from EdX and earn your PD credit from Round Rock ISD. It's that simple. Here is the link to register with EdX:

Missing TEPSA or TASSP? Follow #TEPSA14 & #TASSP14

I can't attend the 2014 TEPSA and TASSP Conferences this week, but I won't be totally left out because I perused and followed #TEPSA14 and #TASSP14 on Twitter.
Those who were lucky enough to attend were not only busy sharing pictures of themselves with Clifford,

but were also sharing valuable resources shared in sessions and quotes from the speakers.

All summer long we will be posting conference hashtags here on the blog. Check them out and do some vicarious learning.
